DOBRCANE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
When F-4 CAV assumed responsibility in Kosovo from E-4 CAV, we also inherited a school to sponsor. The school is located in the town of Dobercane, approximately seven kilometers from the Kosovo-Serbia border. Approximately 700 children attend the school ranging in ages from 6-14 years old. The troop checks on the school about every two weeks to ensure they are being cared for, have wood for their heating system, and provide them with school supplies that are donated from generous people across the globe.
The school and children are short on many of the basic supplies required to conduct classes. They require paper, pencils, pens, chalk, chalkboards, crayons, and the list goes on. Despite these set backs the school principal and faculty are determined to educate the children and keep the school open.
